We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced individual with a track record of delivering effective and innovative public engagement activities and of successfully promoting public engagement to researchers. This is an exciting chance to shape and deliver our Public Engagement programme and really make a difference.
This post is based in the Research and Innovation (R&I) Directorate and will be responsible for ensuring a coordinated approach to public engagement across the University. You will work with colleagues both within R&I and across the University, drawing upon their expertise and commitment to our public engagement agenda. The role will include providing advice and support to researchers across all academic disciplines in planning and delivering high quality engagement activities. You will also, facilitate a network of Public Engagement practitioners, deliver and promote training and devise new initiatives to engage researchers in public engagement.
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with experience of working in a public engagement role or equivalent. You will possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds. This role requires excellent organisational skills, a track-record of managing projects or initiatives, good writing skills and the ability to demonstrate close attention to detail.
You will have experience in developing digital content and a strong IT competence as well as being proactive and capable of working independently. The role may involve travel.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
