About us

UCL is at an interesting point in its history. We have expanded rapidly, and the new strategic planning process is focussed on building on the achievements and opportunities arising from growth while also addressing some of the challenges.

It is an exciting time in the development of UCL’s education and student experience, With the new Education Strategy setting out an ambitious plan for the next 5 years. The Office of the Vice-Provost (Education & Student Experience) provides strategic leadership and direction, and manages major education projects with cross-institutional impact.

As we identify our priorities for education at UCL and develop our plans, we are focussed on both internal and external challenges. For example, although we should never be driven solely by metrics, we are mindful of the growing importance of the external metrics against which our education is measured and, more importantly, what they tell us about our students and their experience at UCL. We have a number of major strategic improvement projects underway, notably the Programme Excellence Project (PEP), Personal Tutor Review, Student Life Strategy, Extended Learning Opportunities, and Student Engagement Strategy, all designed to address our structural challenges. Delivery of these projects must be coordinated with other interdependent projects.

This Project Manager role will be pivotal for the next phase of work within UCL Education and Student Experience.

About the role

The successful candidate will be a member of the UCL Senior Education Team and will work with senior colleagues to continue the delivery of PEP1 and lead and shape PEP2.

The role-holder has responsibility for reviewing the main structural and content challenges with our current curriculums, working with appropriate internal and external stakeholders, establishing points of consensus and principles for enhancement that offer benefits for staff and students, identifying future challenges and opportunities, proposing programme design solutions, designing delivery schedules, preparing impact statements on the options, and presenting to colleagues at all levels in the university. Leading successful curriculum conversations with key stakeholders across the breadth of the UCL community is central to this role.

Key to the success of this post will be the ability to collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, and to communicate clearly and effectively. A team of two staff has just been appointed to support the post holder in the delivery of this project. The post holder will also work closely with a colleague delivering related projects on research-intensive education and extended learning opportunities, and the curriculum data teams in SRS and Planning.

Flexible Working Statement: 'We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible'.

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site. This is a secondment role until 31/7/26.
