Summary:

As part of the Campus Services team within Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) you will play a key role in supporting the University’s core business of teaching and research by delivering essential integrated facilities support services to academic faculties and other professional services to enable the University to achieve its strategic objectives.

As Deputy Facilities Manager you will play an important role in helping to develop and maintain a sense of ownership within their area of responsibility. Operating within the standards and targets set by the Facilities Manager, the post holder is responsible for ensuring that service and quality standards are delivered in an effective and efficient manner.

As a line management and customer facing role, you will directly contribute to ensuring the experience and overall impression of the University by students, staff and visitors is one of excellence. Key responsibilities of the role include activities which focus on the management of people, property and processes. This includes resource planning, monitoring performance, undertaking inspections, cleaning audits and risk assessments and progressing first line maintenance issues to ensure prompt remedial action.

To be successful in the role you will have a positive, flexible approach to the role and demonstrate a genuine commitment to delivering quality services and a high standard of customer care. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to plan and organise short-term activities and events and be able to motivate a team of people, delegate work and monitor and review individual and team progress and performance are essential criteria for the role of Deputy Facilities Manager.
