It is an exciting time to join the University of Liverpool Libraries, Museums, and Galleries (LMG).
We are seeking an Art Curator to join our Cultural Heritage team, based at the Victoria Gallery and Museum (VGM), and working closely with colleagues across the Garstang Museum of Archaeology and Egyptology and Special Collections and Archives based at the Sydney Jones Library.
You will report to the Head of Exhibitions and Public Programmes ensuring collections can be used to their full potential, engaging with audiences and raising the profile and reputation of the University. You will work in close partnership and cooperation with curatorial, technical and learning colleagues, ensuring a consistent approach to interpretation, developing opportunities for audience and community participation, and embed evaluation.
You will be responsible for developing the exhibition programme, supporting volunteers and student interns, advising on new acquisition opportunities, and both documenting and promoting the collection.
LMG is home to diverse and significant collections that trace the history of the University and the many different communities that have shaped that development. We are a signatory of the Liverpool Arts and Culture Race Equality Manifesto, and a member of the Culture Network Liverpool.
We encourage those interested in the role to contact us for an informal discussion to find out more about the role and the workplace.
Interviews are anticipated to take place week commencing Monday 22nd September, subject to change.
