The role

The Senior Product Manager for the University' s new Unified Data, Integration and Reporting Service will be responsible for bringing strategic and operational clarity and focus to the myriad of exciting things we could be working on. 

Work with the service owner, multidisciplinary service team and data domain leads, you'll manage the continuous delivery of the three service components: our enterprise data platform, our bring your own data platform, and our integration platform. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a great bunch of people to really transform the way the University operates and makes use of data. That's where we need your help to think both strategically and operationally about how we shape and deliver change and adoption of this new service. 

What you will do 

As a Senior Product Manager you will:

  • Make sense of our needs and opportunities and elicit and collaboratively set out how we can (radically) change how we make use of data across the University.
  • Manage the three service components and service adoption: enterprise data, bring your own data, and integrations.
  • Create service goals, KPIs and an accompanying realistic credible roadmap.
  • Manage the life cycle of service offerings, from initial design and planning, domain onboarding, through to production rollout and ongoing optimisation.
  • Own and maintain the service model, roadmap and prioritised backlog.
  • Ensure that user support and documentation is clear and accessible. 

The service has been funded for an initial 2 year period. Consequently, this position is a 2-year, full-time role, usually based on the University's West Cambridge Site.

What you will need

  • A supportive and collaborative approach to work mixed with a drive and ambition to deliver.
  • Excellent stakeholder, communication, written and presentation skills.
  • Experience of product management of enterprise level products and services.
  • Experience working with engineering teams using DevOps practices.
  • Proven experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.
