Job Overview

The key objective of the role is to provide support to the centre and students, to ensure centre compliance with its responsibilities as a Tier 4 sponsor for international students by adhering to our Attendance monitoring policy and procedures. This includes identifying safeguarding and welfare issues, which often impact student attendance, and working with other members of the admin team to provide support.

The role will involve running and interpreting data from our information systems as well as reinforcing policy through regular and consistent implementation of monitoring procedures, issuing warnings and acknowledging excellent attendance to students, parents/guardians, Agents and ONCAMPUS staff.

The role requires a strong team player with excellent, communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload in a pressurised environment.

Key Responsibilities

Attendance monitoring and procedures:

  • Monitor attendance on a daily and weekly basis using data reports from our information system.
  • Process approved absences according to the Attendance policy.
  • Arrange, sit in and report on attendance meetings with students failing to meet our expectations with regard to attendance.
  • Identify students at risk of failing to comply with attendance rules, reporting these at welfare meetings with the Deputy Centre Head and Senior Student Services Officer, as necessary, to agree actions and delegate welfare caseloads.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification (Essential)
  • Experience in an administrative position (Essential)
  • An understanding of UK Higher Education and the needs and requirements of International Students (Essential)
  • Experience of producing routine and bespoke data reports to external deadlines (Essential)
  • An understanding and experience of private sector education (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of the capita Unit-E database (Desirable)
