City has recently invested in an institution-wide Employability Development Plan. This project has a commitment to integrate, as a core elective in every undergraduate programme, professionally relevant work experience that, in the short-term, will support key skills development of City students, re-align their career focus and in the longer term contribute to increase in graduate outcomes. Within the School of Arts and Social Sciences, this plan is implemented by designing new modules that, amongst other things, provide interdisciplinary Professional Level Experience via live project briefs to final year undergraduates.
The appointed candidate will oversee the operational implementation of City’s Employability Development Plan in SASS. In the first instance the main focus will be delivering the new industry led team projects module in which students across SASS programmes will work in te ams on live employer led projects. In the longer term you will be working with colleagues to design, develop and deliver other employability related modules to improve the employability prospects and experiences of SASS students.
We are looking for a candidate from the disciplines with SASS with a keen interest in improving the employability of student. Equally we are looking to receive applications from individuals with a professional background in relevant sectors with a keen interest in education. Experience in employability related roles is considered an asset for this role as is an awareness of the job sectors relevant to SASS students.
