Role summary
The BBS Careers Consultant drives the implementation of the University’s employability strategy for Birmingham Business School, the College of Social Sciences, and Careers Network, delivering priorities and working with colleagues to be a catalyst for positive change. Drawing upon your expertise in student employability, and the graduate labour market, you will advise and support academic colleagues, professional services staff, and BBS Careers team members to develop and engage students with in curricular and co-curricular external engagement, employability skills, and a variety of career development activity. Reporting to the BBS Head of Careers, the postholder plays a vital role in collaborating with one other BBS Careers Consultant to deliver strong employability outcomes for BBS students, enhanced reputation for Birmingham Business School and the University of Birmingham and establish strong relations between the School, College, and Careers Network to ensure that employability plans align with strategic objectives and reflect the needs of all Birmingham Business School students.
Leading a small team of career professionals supporting either undergraduates or postgraduates (including MBA) students, the postholder will develop a programme of activities that enhance the employability of our students, promote equality, diversity, and inclusion, and ensures students have access to the right development opportunities for them.
