Our IT Services department now has an opportunity for an individual with an enthusiasm for customer service and development experience to manage our end user compute team.
This exciting new role will join IT Services as a senior developer to manage and work with our multi-disciplined End User Compute team consisting of technical experts. You will provide development and management of the team and IT systems with an expectation to perform as a hands-on subject matter expert for the delivery and support of the UEL Desktop environment, application deployment and managing a modern digital workspace. You will also be key team player to the digital transformation to cloud technologies.
This exciting position will challenge you to develop and deploy new systems and services in line with modern industry best practice, ensuring the existing services are running efficiently and securely. You will have significant experience in managing a team of technical specialists whilst liaising with stakeholders including academics in a fast-paced complex organisation. You will need to demonstrate a proven track record in enterprise solutions and working within an ITIL framework, solve complex problems with diverse requirements, whilst utilising the wider team to improve IT services to a wider university community.
You will have a methodical approach to all challenges with excellent communication skills. Involvement in wider IT developments and projects whilst always working within agreed service levels, delivering measurable improvements to quality and operational efficiency. IT Services are predominantly remote workers but there is an expectation to visit the campus when required.
