About the role
Northumbria is recruiting for several roles within Operational Management across our faculties. The Faculty Operations Manager will report into an Assistant Director of Faculty Operations, whilst also working closely with Faculty Pro Vice Chancellors and their leadership teams. You will manage the administrative team within each faculty and how it interacts with our central functions to ensure the smooth delivery of our activities across all of our four faculties. This role will work closely with Faculty Pro Vice Chancellors to fulfil their needs for strategic support with projects across each faculty, so refined stakeholder and project management skills are essential in addition to experience of team management. We are investing in these new roles across each faculty, so there is the opportunity to develop and shape these roles with new colleagues within the Faculty Operations team.
We would be pleased to hear from candidates looking to make a difference and wanting to progress within their career, or, to bring their existing skills and experience to bear within the University of the Year. Experience within Higher Education would be useful, but this opportunity would be equally well suited to an operational professional with a range of transferable skills who would welcome the challenge of this role.
Northumbria is currently the THE University of the Year for 2022, and is embarking on a number of exciting developments including a new Centre for Health and Social Equity which will be part of an investment of over £300m in the estate in the period to 2030. The University is an excellent employer at which to develop. As well as our commitment to personal development, you will benefit from a flexible approach to hybrid working, generous pension and annual leave policies, and a wide range of other benefits ranging from the on-site sports centre to parental leave.
We particularly encourage applications from practitioners/individuals who come from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, as we are currently under-represented in this area, although all appointments will be made on merit.
