About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to join our collaborative, creative team on our SpLD/Dyslexia programmes. You will be working across the School of Education - a place where students, academics, Bath Spa teachers, classroom teachers, education practitioners and all who are interested in education come together in a community of research and practice. The School of Education offers taught postgraduate courses which are flexible and modular, with specialist pathways and opportunities for students to engage in practitioner research.
You will be contributing to the existing SpLD/Dyslexia and inclusion courses at both Masters and Undergraduate levels and also have a role in developing new modules and courses in this area and more broadly in the field of education and inclusion. Your role will also include supporting students in completing the Professional Practice element of the postgraduate SpLD/Dyslexia course which is required for the British Dyslexia Association qualifications: Approved Teacher Status(ATS), Approved Practitioner Status(APS), Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association(AMBDA), and Assessment Practising Certificate(APC).
You will join a vibrant academic community to design, develop and deliver engaging learning and teaching opportunities, and to engage in research and scholarly activity. We will support you in developing your teaching, research, and publication profile, enabling you to build internal and external networks and seek access to external funding.
About you (requirements)
You will be someone who shares our values and commitment to social justice and student-centred teaching and learning, and providing an excellent student experience. You will have a first and higher degree or be working towards higher qualifications. Specialist knowledge in SpLD/ Dyslexia and inclusion, active Associate Membership of the British Dyslexia Association(AMBDA) and an active Assessment Practising Certificate(APC) is essential. If you enjoy working collaboratively and flexibly and being open to new ideas and challenges, this is an exciting opportunity.
