We are looking for an experienced Grants Manager to join our team in Twickenham, SW London.
This post provides the opportunity to join a busy and expanding team that is playing an important role in funding high quality research that benefits the NHS, patients and the public.
With around 40 funding competitions running at any time, LGC's Operations team manage everything from scheduling and launching new competitions, supporting applicants, facilitating assessment by independent reviewers and funding committees, through to confirming funding outcomes to applicants.

Job Purpose
Operations Managers are responsible for delivering funding competitions to key milestone dates and quality standards. Their role involves scheduling and resource management, risk evaluation and management, project management, leadership and line management. They develop the team and drive improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
Lead the setting up of new funding competitions
Run competitions effectively
Line and Team Management
Line manage 6-9 members of the team
Follow company policies and procedures
Support and manage new staff through induction and probation periods
Support staff to progress along structured career development pathways
Identify relevant training and development opportunities
Manage performance
Continuous Improvement
Ensure the team value continuous improvement
Empower team members to challenge process and suggest alternatives
Lead ongoing improvement to our ways of working
Work with governance colleagues on the implementation and change management of policies
Experience Required
Grant management experience within a university, NHS Trust, charity or grant-giving organisation
Experience of effective resource and/or process management
Experience of managing and developing teams

Ability to coach, develop and motivate people
Curious mind with an appetite to constantly improve the service offered
A customer focus but willing to constructively challenge when necessary
