From 1 November 2023 the salary range will increase to £28,397 to £30,210, with potential progression once in post to £33,938

Background
The School of Chemistry at the University of Birmingham is a vibrant and thriving academic community, with over 90 academic and research staff, 20 professional services staff and over 600 students. The post holder will undertake a range of activities in relation to HR and Finance, as well as providing more general support to other activities within the remit of the School Operations Hub.
Job Summary
The post holder will support the day-to-day administrative processes across the School, providing high-quality support for academic colleagues and professional services staff within the School. Providing advice and support on University processes and systems to enable the efficient and effective running of daily administrative activity. The post holder will work on the instruction of the Operations Officer / Head of Operations to plan and prioritise the regular cycle of business for the School. The post holder will act as the administrative central point of contact and liaison with College and centrally-based finance and recruitment colleagues, acting as a key source of promoting knowledge and understanding within the School.
The post holder will be expected to handle confidential documents and sensitive information in accordance with University policy and GDPR regulations.
The post requires a strong sense of initiative and the ability to multi-task. The post will require a high level of communication between academics, recruiting managers, the School Operations Officer, the Head of Operations, Research Administration Officers, HR and Finance, and other members of the School Operations Hub.
