Tees Valley is becoming a centre for innovation in industrial decarbonisation in the UK and aims to host a fully decarbonised industrial cluster by 2040.
Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) is currently seeking to recruit a Net Zero Innovation Cluster Coordinator who will support one of ten UKRI funded National ‘Launchpad’ Projects to support the Tees Valley Region’s ambitious Net Zero aims.
TVCA is a regional Mayoral Authority and is a partnership of the Tees Valley Mayor and the five local authorities in Tees Valley (Darlington, Hartlepool, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton on Tees and Middlesbrough).
The post is based at the offices of the TVCA at Teesside International Airport in Darlington in the northeast of England.
TVCA currently operates a hybrid working practise with at least 2 – 3 /days a week being spent in the office or on site.
The aim of the Tees Valley Net Zero Launchpad Program is to develop and manage an emerging Net Zero innovation cluster in Tees Valley.
This Net Zero Innovation Cluster will provide a focus in the region across the full range of Net Zero Innovation support available from both UKRI and more widely.
The Launchpad Programme aims to support Innovation in all fields contributing to a future Net Zero economy through the promotion and development of effective collaborations and partnerships leading to an increase in innovation intensity so that greater levels of funding are realised on a regional basis.
The role will involve frequent engagement with individual businesses, funders and the wider research community including Teesside University’s Net Zero Industrial Innovation Centre.
The post holder will coordinate the Launchpad project, working closely with staff at UKRI and reporting on Net Zero Innovation and key project metrics.
Project tasks will also include both organising and attending a regular program of networking and other showcase events with businesses, funders and research organisations, the development of a web page and collaborative portal and other mechanisms thorough which business and innovators can share knowledge and expertise, supporting Net Zero innovation in the region and developing a pipeline of case studies for promotion.
These activities will be delivered in the form of a discrete project which will be managed by the post holder.
The ideal candidate would have a good knowledge of the Tees Valley Industrial Cluster and its existing business support networks or should have the ability to develop a knowledge of the Cluster and form relationships with key stakeholders quickly.
This is a permanent position.
