The ‘London Social Venture Fund’ (LSVF) project

The University of London is part of a consortium of ten universities and eight other partners drawn from across London which, funded by Research England, are seeking to develop a social venture development programme that builds on the interest of university staff and students to create and scale social ventures in order to tackle challenging and complex social problems. It is also intended to provide the foundations for the establishment of a university-focused social investment fund.

The Role

This role will support a new generation of social ventures to secure their first customers. The LSVF Programme Manager will work with London Boroughs, Local healthcare services and private sector partners to identify challenges and opportunities and to match social ventures which have potential solutions.

You will work closely with the other members of the LSVF team and the Director to establish a university-focused social investment fund. You will be working across a team based across five institutions: Queen Mary Innovation,  UCL Business,  London Met, University of Arts London and University of London as well as with businesses, local government and investor networks.

This is a hybrid role based on the successful candidate working at least two days a week at Senate House, University of London.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, the majority of employees will be able to agree to work remotely for up to 60% of their working week, role dependent, however will be required to attend on specific days for training or team meetings.
