Main duties and responsibilities

The Equality Office is situated within the Office of the Vice Chancellor and is located on the College lane campus in Hatfield.

The postholder support the Head of Equality in providing specialist and confidential advice, guidance and support to staff and students on equality and diversity related matters, including discrimination, harassment and victimisation.  The post holder will organise events linked to EDI within the University, contribute to and organise staff and student networks and act as a facilitator and presenter for EDI workshops across the University. 

Skills and experience needed

The successful candidate will have previous experience in an EDI role, with a personal commitment to promoting and advancing equality of opportunity.

A working knowledge of UK equality legislation and how it applies in practice is essential as are excellent training, presentation and facilitation skills. 

A clear understanding of statistics and statistical reporting and analysis is required.  

The postholder will also be expected to be an excellent communicater with the ability to engage professionally with staff at all levels and external stakeholders.

Qualifications required

Degree or equivalent education or relevant experience.
