The Whitworth is seeking a Curator (Constituent Museum) to develop the Constituent Museum project - a partnership with the Van Abbemuseum, funded by OUTSET. The Curator (Constituent Museum) will put community relationships at the centre of the Whitworth’s activity. The role will support collaboration and co-production, with the relative positions of both the museum and its constituencies shifting and changing.
The Whitworth, part of the University of Manchester, is an art gallery, park and institute made collectively by the activity of all its users, including those working and volunteering there. It was made for people of all social classes and cultures to come and rub shoulders together and imagine the world anew. By working locally on issues that are relevant to the people around us, it connects internationally, with communities of interest across borders.
