We are recruiting an Education Services Officer to our Assessment Standards team in Assessment Management, within the Education Services directorate.
The team has oversight of assessment regulations, quality processes, external examining, and academic misconduct.
Assessment is at the heart of what a university does and our department's purpose is to enable our students and colleagues to achieve their best by delivering sector-leading excellence and innovation in assessment management.
Assessment Management consists of six teams;
Assessment Management is part of a wider Education Services department. The department is organised around three thematic areas: Assessment, Student and Curriculum. Colleagues work collaboratively and flexibly to support the needs of the whole department in relation to the demands of the academic calendar.
The Role
The post holder will have lead responsibility for a particular policy or area of work within the Assessment Standards team, while also being expected to work flexibly across the wider team's remit of assessment regulations and associated policies, external examining, academic misconduct and invigilation.
Work will include scheduling assessment boards, recruiting external examiners and servicing committees such as the Professional Services Assessment Group. The post holder may also contribute to tasks such as benchmarking institutional policies and procedures to sector practice.
The Officer's role will provide expert guidance and support to external examiners, academic staff, students and other Professional Services staff, supported by their team, on a wide range of assessment related issues. The role will require the ability to provide excellent stakeholder service and administrative support for assessment activities across Manchester Metropolitan University. There will be a need to establish excellent working relationships across Professional Service area, the academic community and with collaborative partners.
