We have more than 16,000 students, studying at three campuses across Essex. Academic activity is organised into three faculties spanning Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science and Health.
The Academic Section is responsible for managing all aspects of student and academic administration and plays a central role in delivering the University’s commitment to excellence in education across the University. The University has a diverse portfolio of strategic academic partnerships which the Partnerships team in the Academic Section, plays a key role in managing, working with the Deans and Deputy Deans of Partnerships for both Education and Research.
We are seeking to recruit two motivated team players to join the Partnerships team, who are keen to expand their administrative experience, particularly in the fields of governance, formal report writing and quality assurance, to work in a fast paced, changing environment. These roles will provide an opportunity to contribute to an important growth area for the University and enable you to develop a wide range of skills.
Duties of the Role
The postholders will provide support to a small team of Partnerships Managers in working with a range of UK and international collaborative academic partnerships. The postholders will provide support in the organisation of specified Partnership meetings and events, including the preparation of documentation, undertaking the role of Secretary and producing formal written reports or minutes. The roles will also involve conducting due diligence checks, compiling information from Departments and Partner Institutions for approval of academic partnerships and courses, supporting the development of contractual arrangements, overseeing records, systems and processes for allocated partnership projects, and maintaining and updating key policy and procedure documents.
There are two posts available - one permanent, full-time post and one fixed-term, full-time post until 31 July 2023.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidates will have solid administrative experience and the ability to understand and interpret regulatory frameworks. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to pay attention to detail, prioritise multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential, as is the need to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality. A flexible approach is required, along with strong IT skills.
If you are seeking to expand your administrative experience, this opportunity will enable you to develop a wide range of skills, while working in a dynamic and expanding area of work.
At the University of Essex, internationalism and diversity is central to who we are and what we do. We are committed to being a cosmopolitan, internationally oriented university that is welcoming to staff and students from all countries, faiths and backgrounds, where you can find the world in one place.
