We are now looking for a Senior Research Nurse in Sexual Health, HIV and Infectious Diseases to join our team within our Centre for Clinical Research in Infection and Sexual Health. The Centre has a research programme covering a wide range of studies from observational cohort studies to interventional trials for HIV infection, other sexually transmitted infections and viral hepatitis.
Our Research Nurses are a key part of the clinical team, responsible for patient recruitment, coordination of care of patients on trials, collection and preparation of biological samples, data collection and maintenance of study site files and case report forms. The post holder will work alongside another Senior Research Nurse to agree the allocation of new studies within the team, contribute to patient recruitment, collection and maintenance of study records and support of patients under care including those on treatment for blood-borne and sexually transmitted infections.
We are looking for candidates with an active professional registration as a nurse/midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) with clinical experience in sexual health, HIV, Infectious diseases or a related speciality, and experience and knowledge of clinical research/clinical trials. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team are essential as is experience of people/line management.
This role is available from March 2023 for 12 months in the first instance.
