THE PROJECT

The University of Essex in partnership with Croud Inc Ltd offers an exciting opportunity to a graduate with the relevant skills and knowledge to implement leading-edge mathematical approaches to data science in a digital marketing agency, future-proofing advertising measurement and deployment while maintaining GDPR compliance. This post is fixed term for 24 months and is based at Croud Inc Ltd offices in London

DUTIES OF THE POST

The main duty of the KTP Associate will be to lead a 24-month project which aims to develop and deliver a new range of complex and customisable data products using a wide range of innovative data science techniques. 

The duties of the post will include:

  • Critically evaluate the existing version of Media Mix Modelling in the context of digital marketing using the data provided by Croud, putting emphasis on attributions, short- and long-term prediction, financial impacts etc.
  • Explore and develop appropriate network models to maximise modelling and predictive potentials.
  • Undertake a Bayesian implementation of the modelling approaches.
  • Work with Croud to embed knowledge and integrate the associated algorithms into the company decision platform.
  • Disseminate non commercially sensitive information through journals, academic presentations, and patents (where applicable). Examples for commercially sensitive information includes - but not limited to - client information, codebase, etc.
  • Actively manage and monitor a personal development plan.
  • Commit to any training required for the project.
  • Manage and lead the KTP project management, including organisation and maintenance of project-related plans and progress meetings.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • A PhD degree in Data Science and Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar disciplines. Alternatively, working experience in the practical industry that has relevant and equivalent level of on-the-job experience/professional qualification.
  • Strong experience in Python and the associated data science stacks.
  • Project management experience in either the industry and/or research settings.
  • Strong in or demonstrate willingness to learn advanced computational statistics and data science-related techniques.
  • Strong computer programming ability in the context of statistical data analysis
  • Implementing methods with an appreciation of software development best practices such as working with version control (git), constructing tests and writing documentation.
  • A delivery driven approach to solving data science problems, opting for the most appropriate solution to addressing the business problem in the required time frame.
  • Able to translate complex, highly technical ideas to non-experts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (track record of writing reports, giving presentations, interacting with non-specialists, etc.).
  • Tenacity and persuasiveness to keep the project moving forwards and to bring others along the journey.
