We are looking for someone to manage the day-to-day administration of the Horticulture Quality and Food Loss Network (HortQFLNet) until the end of 2023.
The Network is the leading collective voice for the UK horticultural and postharvest community and over the last three years has delivered a highly effective, collaborative and sustainable horticultural research community in the UK. The scope of the Network focuses on post-farm gate problems, with the recognition that the solution to these may require pre-farm gate intervention. The Network is now working with the Association of Applied Biologists (AAB) to form a new specialist crop quality and food loss group.
The role holder will provide administrative support to the Network working with the Network Directors and AAB to facilitate the transition and set up of the new specialist group. They will maintain and build the Network’s membership and contacts databases and promote the work of the Network and Specialist group through e-newsletters sent to all HortQFLNet members. They will be responsible for maintaining and updating the Network’s website and social media accounts and use these to disseminate information to the global postharvest community. This role holder will also support the organisation of Network/AAB meetings, conferences and other events as required.

Ability to ensure effective liaison and communication to a range of stakeholders
Excellent IT skills with a range of IT packages and systems (incl. Microsoft Office)
Ability to maintain administrative records
Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve team goals
Ability to coordinate progress across a project
This position is advertised as 36 hours per week (1:00fte) however consideration will be given to making an appointment to this position on a 0.8fte or above basis.
