Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University?
Come and be part of an innovative and influential University department delivering excellent IT and business services to a leading Russell Group institution. With a reputation for engaging staff and students in partnership to deliver services, for three years running UK students have voted us best for IT support. We are committed to delivering and supporting excellent customer focussed services and to do this we need to recruit the best staff, invested in higher education and dedicated to supporting sector leading learning, teaching and research – and that’s why we need you…
This is a varied and exciting role where you will be an integral member of the IT Asset Support team and will provide both proactive and responsive hardware and software support to staff and students. You will prepare and dispatch IT equipment including the management of assets. You will provide advice and support to customers’ requests both remote and face-to-face. You will keep equipment safe and virus free; configure network services software and support computer issues including the security of devices.
You will provide IT support for specialist events throughout the year and help coordinate workspace relocations and equipment refresh/disposal. You will have the ability to contribute to short-term projects within your own work area, organise resources, and plan and progress work activities.
You will be educated to A level (or equivalent experience or qualifications) and have experience of working in an IT support environment. You will have excellent customer service and time management skills, as well as the ability to diagnose, analyse and solve problems. You will work with high levels of attention to detail and with a high regard for the use of personal data. Experience of using an IT Service Management system to allocate and monitor support tasks would be preferable but is not essential as training can be provided.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to be involved in advancing operational maturity and to develop this role as we move towards being an Agile and Product led team, embedding a service-first culture and promoting a continuous improvement ethos.
We are committed to enabling our employees to work in a hybrid model with flexibility over when, where and how to achieve the required outputs, in discussion with your manager.
We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
