You will join the Warwick Medical School Mental Health and Wellbeing Unit as an Assistant Professor (Research Focused) working on the NIHR project “High-quality mental capacity assessments for healthcare decisions: improving Leadership, assessment Procedures, and service user Support (HELPS)”. HELPS is a 30 month project at the Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick, in partnership with researchers from the Warwick Business School and from the University of Bristol, University of East Anglia, and University of York and with NHS, social care and third sector organisations in England and Wales, as established during the research.
You will have a PhD in a medical, public health, global health or health-related social science, together with experience of using mixed methods in research involving case studies, surveys, and/or cohort studies. Experience of qualitative methods, in particular ethnographic and participatory methods will be essential. This position is for a researcher with a track record of being part of research teams, evidence of publications and experience in supervising and supporting researchers in the field. As an Assistant Professor (Research Focused), you will be expected to carry out research within the HELPS project.
You will have specialist knowledge and significant experience in health services research, together with excellent oral and written communication and collaborative skills. You must be willing and able to travel nationally for meetings, and to help organise such meetings. You will be encouraged to continue to train and develop skills to undertake high quality empirical and methodological research.
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
