The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the IT Services team at the University of Bradford as a Senior Research Infrastructure Engineer. These are newly created roles reflecting the importance of research activity to the University.

You will contribute to the University's IT transformation programme and will be responsible for a range of technology areas relating to our research infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Degree level, or equivalent qualifications in a computer related discipline. For internal candidates, appropriate equivalent experience will be considered
  • Essential: Microsoft / VMWare qualified, or equivalent experience

Experience, skills, and knowledge

Extensive experience in managing servers and storage with excellent Windows, Linux, and VMWare skills. Please see the job description for full details.

Previous experience of working in a Higher Education environment supporting academic research colleagues would be a distinct advantage

  • Salary: Grade 9; £45,737 to £52,841 (potential to increase to £59,450 through our performance and recognition scheme)

  • Work pattern: Typical hours: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some work can only be completed out of normal working hours. It is therefore important that applicants can work or be contacted occasionally during unsocial hours, including weekends
