The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. We are recruiting a Research Fellow to lead, design, analyse and interpret epidemiological studies using large electronic health record datasets. The post-holder will be based at the Electronic Health Record (EHR) group at LSHTM. The role is affiliated to Health Data Research UK (HDR UK), the UK's national institute for health data science established in 2018. HDR UK London constitutes one of the nine HDR UK regional networks and aims to enhance regional partnership and collaboration with HDR UK. The post-holder will play a key role in facilitating and delivering regional comparative analyses of granular hospital data.
The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant discipline and have a strong data science background with expertise in a common statistical package (e.g., Stata/R or SQL). Relevant experience in using high dimensional routinely collected health data using meticulous approaches facilitating reproducible research is essential. The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and fixed-term for 2 years. The post is funded by the Health Data Research UK and is available immediately.
The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6 in the range £43,947 - £49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
