The Opportunity
Reporting into the Head of HR, this is an opportunity for a positive-thinking, enthusiastic and proactive individual to join the HR team at Caius, where daily you will be supporting up to 250 staff, including Heads of department, line managers and employees throughout all stages of the employment life cycle. Already a proficient administrator, with strong people and IT skills, you will work collaboratively as part of the team to strengthen connections through the provision of a comprehensive, professional, and confidential HR service.
You will frequently represent the first point of contact for the department, providing information and resolving queries whilst maintaining accurate records via our HR databases. You will be able to demonstrate discretion in relation to confidential matters, a sound understanding of data protection requirements and competence with technology. Your eye for detail, and enthusiasm for problem-solving will enable you to undertake project delivery support wherever it is most needed. You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the capability to prioritise tasks, and work at pace to changing priorities.
The Department This is a permanent part-time role (30 hours per week). The salary is £24,777 The College Gonville & Caius College is one of the largest Colleges in the University of Cambridge. It is an educational charity, and its mission is to provide a place of education, religion, learning and research, in conjunction with the University that is recognised internationally as being of the highest standard. The College is an academic community comprising some 530 undergraduate students, 250 graduate students, and 110 Fellows (lecturers, professors and other senior academic researchers and teachers) and almost 200 staff.
